Do I need a clay bar treatment if my car looks clean?

Run a clean finger across your paint after washing — if it feels rough or gritty, you have embedded contamination. Clay bar treatment is recommended every 6–12 months for most Oahu vehicles, or before any wax or sealant application.

Will clay bar scratch my paint?

When done correctly with the proper clay lubricant, the process is completely safe. Our technicians are trained to use clay bar technique that cleans without marring the surface.

Should I get clay bar before waxing?

Yes — always. Waxing over contamination just locks the contaminants in and produces a hazy, uneven finish. Clay bar is the essential prep step for any protective coating.

Does a clay bar remove scratches or swirl marks?

No. Clay removes contamination sitting on top of the paint. Scratches and swirls are defects in the clear coat itself and need machine polishing — that's what our paint correction service is for.

Even a clean-looking car surface is covered in microscopic contaminants — industrial fallout, brake dust, salt deposits, and embedded road grime. Net Automotive Detailing's mobile clay bar treatment physically removes these embedded particles, leaving your paint silky smooth and properly prepared for wax or sealant application.

Why Island Paint Needs Decontamination

Run your hand over your paint after a wash. If it feels gritty instead of glass-smooth, that's bonded contamination — salt residue, industrial fallout, tree sap, and overspray that washing alone can't remove. On Oahu it builds up fast.

A clay bar treatment lifts that contamination off the clear coat so wax bonds properly and lasts longer. It's the right prep before spray wax, and it pairs naturally with an exterior detail.
